Bobby Thompson

British Touring Car Championship Driver

About Bobby Thompson

Bobby Thompson is a 26-year-old racing driver, competing for the fifth season in the British Touring Car Championship in 2023.

Having won the 2017 VW cup championship, with six wins and two-second place finishes, he went on to compete with Team Hard in the BTCC in both 2018 and 2019. In 2020 he moved to Trade Price Cars Racing but suffered a major accident putting an end to his season halfway through the year.

After recovering in 2021, he re-joined the BTCC and Team Hard for the 2022 season and returned with a bang, winning the 2022 Jack Sears Trophy championship at the wheel of a Cupra Leon.

For 2023, Bobby is looking to go one step further and win the UK’s more prestigious series, the British Touring Car Championship title.

Bobby has been racing for eight years and has set lap records at the world-famous Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, as well as many UK tracks.

In 2012, Bobby was identified by the Motor Sports Association (MSA) as being a potentially elite competitor and has gone on to excel in the Advanced Apprenticeship in Sporting excellence and is a registered ARDS instructor providing world-class tutoring and mentorship for other racing drivers.
